Christmas 2008

Brady diving into his stocking.
Playing with a new toy!
Christmas attire in Arkansas (did we mention 70 degrees).
Christmas Eve opening one of many presents.
Playing ring on a string, we missed you Auntie Rm!
A pretty cute picture!
Christmas this year has been pretty crazy. We started celebrating Christmas with family on Dec 19th and wont be done until January 17th (Ian will be home from Afghanistan, Yahoo!!)! Brady is going to think this Christmas thing is great! :) Wow...having Christmas with a child is just amazing. It changes how you see things and how important the "stuff" really is. I have been going to school for my Real Estate Appraisal License and just need to take the state test, so during the time off, I have been staying home with Brady which is truly amazing to see him change and grow stronger everyday. He is going to be such a good older brother. We will say where is the baby, and he will point to mommies stomach, and we say love the baby, and he will touch my belly and smile. He is such a joy and a crazy boy! SUCH A BOY. He loves to play catch and building things but loves to knock them down also. He shows us how great of a life we have.
We wish everyone a great 2009!

Yes...we were at the Monday night football game vs. the Green Bay Packers! What a fun time. Of course we knew it was going to be cold so we were pretty prepared and packed the clothes on(only thing chilly by the end of the game was my toes). We had up to 5 layers on certain body parts. Thank you Michelle for the tickets! It was a great time. OT WIN!!!

2nd in State!

Touchdown Matt Morse!!! Matt knocking down a pass!!!
What an amazing Thanksgiving we had. We were able to go to Champaign for Matt's State Championship game. Aurora played Bloomington Catholic which was a pretty good team and ended up beating the Eagles 37-28 but what an amazing game. Matt had 2 touchdowns which put him as 13th on the all time list for the state of Illinois to catch over 20 TD's in a season. Pretty cool! Tons of family came in for the game and it was so fun to watch Matt play! Here ares a few articles from the game...

CHAMPAIGN -- Aurora Christian and Bloomington Central Catholic uncorked a classic on Friday, combining to set or tie 13 individual and team Class 4A championship game records.
Which is no small feat, considering the Class 4A title game has been played since 1974.
Here's a rundown of the records set (with old record in parentheses):
• Total offense, both teams -- 892 yards (889)
• Most passes attempted, both teams -- 77 (69)
• Most passes completed, Aurora Christian -- 27 (25)
• Most passes completed, both teams -- 43 (34; new mark also ties overall IHSA title game record)
• Most yards passing, Aurora Christian -- 365 (321)
• Most yards passing, both teams -- 684 (541)
• Most pass attempts -- Aurora Christian's Jordan Roberts, 55 (49)
• Most pass completions -- Roberts, 27 (25)
• Most pass yards in a game -- Roberts, 365 (305)
• Most receptions in a game -- Aurora Christian's David Zielke, 10 (8)
• Most touchdowns passing, Aurora Christian -- 4, tied with Sacred Heart Griffin
• Most passing touchdowns in a game -- Roberts, 4 with three others
• Most receiving touchdowns in a game -- Aurora Christian's Zielke and Matt Morse, 2, tied with six others

Sweet tooth Victory would have been sweeter, but this wasn't all bad.
Aurora Christian football players, prohibited from drinking pop and eating chocolate by coach Don Beebe during the season, were greeted by a sweet treat when they returned to the Urbana Holiday Inn following Friday's 37-28 loss to Bloomington Central Catholic in the Class 4A title game.
The postgame pizza party also featured large brownies covered with whipped cream and chocolate syrup...

They were denied, but not in denial.
Aurora Christian came up short in its bid to bring home the first state football title to the city of Aurora, but the Eagles teamed up with Bloomington Central Catholic to put on an entertaining display of offensive fireworks Friday before falling 37-28.

"We played our hearts out, but they came out and showed they were the beter team. Hats off to them," Eagles running back Lewis Gaddis said.

Both quarterbacks — Bloomington Central's Adam Rebholz and Aurora Christian's Jordan Roberts – threw for more than 300 yards in the Class 4A title bout at Memorial Stadium as the teams combined for a 4A title game record 892 yards of offense.

"You had two phenomenal quarterbacks going at it," Eagles coach Don Beebe said. "Certainly, they were the two best teams in 4A. We just didn't stop them as many times as they stopped us."

Rebholz, who also started at safety and laid some heavy licks on Aurora Christian receivers, completed 16 of 21 passes for 319 yards and led his team in rushing with 15 carries for 80 yards.
"He's the first guy to juke me out of my shoes," Gaddis said. "I couldn't even touch him. He could run the ball, throw the ball and keep his eyes downfield when he was running. He did some damage.

"And on defense, I've never seen a quarterback hit guys like that."

Aurora Christian's Jordan Roberts completed 27 of 55 passes for 365 yards and four scores.
Rebholz scored on a 1-yard run with 1:24 remaining to seal the verdict after the Eagles pulled within 30-28 on a 7-yard scoring pass from Roberts to Matt Morse with 4:50 left.
The Eagles drove into Saints territory and attempted a 39-yard field goal with 29 seconds left that might have left the door open for a last-ditch onside kick, but Jake Van Gilse's boot came up short and wide.

Roberts had touchdown throws of 7 and 72 yards to David Zielke and another of 24 yards to Morse.

"It shows you the kind of quarterback he is," Beebe said. "On the biggest of stages, he stepped up."

Rebholz had scoring tosses of 69 yards to Dylan Johnson and 6 yards to Drew Talkington.
"It was basically an offensive showdown," Roberts said. "They were a great team and very physical. I would say that's the best team we've played. And that quarterback was awesome. It's an awesome threat when you have a QB who can run and throw.

"They just came out and executed their plays and we had a couple mix-ups on defense and they were able to score."

Bloomington won a 3A title in 1994 and took second in 4A last year to Driscoll, when those teams combined for 889 yards of offense.

The Saints won this one because they had a better ground game — it netted 168 yards to just 40 for the Eagles — and tackled better on defense.

Fullback David Murray, who ran 11 times for 65 yards, had a 1-yard scoring run in the second quarter that gave the Saints the lead for good at 18-14. They had missed the extra point on their first score and were stopped on a 2-point conversion on the second, but Murray ran this one in to give his team a 20-14 lead at the break.

"We couldn't stop their running (in the first half). We didn't tackle very well," Beebe said. "I would say not getting them off the field didn't help our matters, because offensively I thought we moved the ball pretty consistently."

Gaddis, who ran 14 times for 52 yards, came up with the lone turnover of the game when he made his first interception of the season, picking off Rebholz deep in Aurora Christian territory in the first quarter
