Baby Shower #2!!!

On Sunday my mom, aunts, and "aunt" Nicole put on a baby shower for me. It was held at the Black Iris Gallery which is Nicole's new store in Sandwich. It was a great time where I got to see a lot of friends and family. We had a jungle theme which had a jungle cake. There was also frogs, monkeys, and palm tree decorations. We played a few baby games but the best was actually having to try the baby food and guess the flavor. I am amazed we feed some of those flavors to our children!

Baby Shower!!!

Thank you to my stepmom for putting on a baby shower on Saturday. It was great to get to see the Boss family and Mrs. Behringer(Nam). Also thanks to Sarah & Kimberly for all their help!

Bed Rest- - - - -

This week your baby weighs a little over 4 pounds and measures 17.2 inches from the top of his head to his heels. His skin is becoming less red and wrinkled, and while most of his bones are hardening, his skull is quite pliable and not completely joined. This will help him ease out of your relatively narrow birth canal. Well...I have been put on bed rest through June 14th. It has been about 2 hours and I am bored already. I am going to be giving myself a goal everyday. I am also going to be working on my at home business and seeing what I can do from the comfort of my couch. I went to the doctor yesterday for my Fetal fibronectin test (The fetal fibronectin test can't tell you for sure that you are in labor, but it can tell you that you're not. This is useful because in the early stages of preterm labor, it's very difficult to tell if a woman really is in labor based on her symptoms and a pelvic exam. A negative result on the fFN test means it's highly unlikely that you'll give birth in the next week or two, which can set your mind at ease and allow your practitioner to hold off on treatments that may prove to be unnecessary. A positive result, on the other hand, is not as useful. It means you're at a higher risk of giving birth early, but it doesn't guarantee that you're about to give birth or that you'll deliver early at all). While they were doing the exam, they realized my cervix was opening(effacing). I have been having some contractions but assumed they were Braxton Hicks. I have been having very strong pressure in my pelvic area which was more of a concern for me. That pressure with the contractions put me in the hospital about 2 weeks ago, but it was nothing to be concerned with as of yet. Well I guess my little boy is going to make this interesting. I talked with my doctor about the fact that after all this, I am probably still going to be late. :-D My doctor told me that if I were to go into labor before June 3rd, they would try to stop the labor by using some sort of drugs. He said that if I make it to June 14th, I can go run a marathon for all he cares. Oh geez...don't think that is going to be happening!!! But on a lighter side, Baby Behr really enjoy Pirates of the Caribbean last night. He was moving all over the place and kicking HARD when the movie got loud. It was a good movie and a good way to relax and take our mind off what was going on. Also this weekend we have 2 baby showers! We are very excited for our little guy, we just need him to cook a little more.

Dusty's track girl is state bound!!!

PREP TRACK & FIELD: Sandwich's Moore a speeding bullet

How fitting is it that sectional champs get the commemorative gun shell that comes from the starter after the beginning of each race is sounded? In the case of Sandwich's Justine Moore, it's very fitting.
Moore flew like a bullet out of a gun in the 100-meter hurdles Saturday at the Ottawa Class AA Sectional. She annihilated the field, posting a time of 15.54 seconds to become the school's first individual Class AA sectional champion. Her time also will place Moore, who is just a freshman, atop the best in Sandwich history.
Her race was so fast that it took her a little while to realize exactly what had happened. Moore had a stunned expression on her face walking back toward the Sandwich tent while teammates and coaches continued to congratulate her.
"It didn't hit me I guess," she said. "I didn't really realize it. It feels good."

30 weeks

This weekend was fun filled. We headed to visit with the Behringer clan and it was very fun. Brian turned the big 40 and Ian returned from Afghanistan safely. We enjoyed the Kentucky derby and Dusty & myself won the bean bag tournament!!! It was a quick weekend but a fun one. Baby update: I am currently 30 weeks along and starting to go to my check-ups every 2 weeks. The babies head is currently facing down already which I was told is a good thing. Just waiting now...I know it will be quick but I am starting to get very excited. I feel like it is all I talk about....my poor family!!!
