Matt Morse of Aurora Christian runs in a touchdown pass in the second quarter, setting the new state record for quarterback Jordan Roberts on Friday

Aurora Christian's Jordan passes record
Eagle now tops on TD passing list

On film, Jordan Roberts might laugh at himself. First, he had to pick himself off the turf and get out from under a Chicago Christian defender. Then he ran over to Matt Morse and kind of jumped into a body bump, but a wobbly ankle didn't really let him get too high in the air.

Jordan Roberts of Aurora Christian celebrates after breaking the state record of 95 touchdown passes during Friday night's home game against Chicago Christian. The Aurora Christian senior quarterback set the IHSA record for career touchdown passes Friday night in a 42-28 victory over Chicago Christian.

The lucky target was wide receiver Morse, who caught exactly zero passes through the first four games after suffering through mononucleosis and its complications. On Friday, he caught four touchdowns from Roberts. The record-tying haul was a 12-yarder on the left side of the end zone. The record-setter was on a slant and go from 16 yards out, only this time the ball had to be floated over a defender and short of the end line. It was a perfect spiral delivered to the perfect place.

He closed his eyes and clenched a fist remembering it. "Then I heard everyone go nuts and I was like, 'Yes, he caught it. Thank you.'"

"It's history," Morse said. "Just to be able to do that with him means a lot to me."

Mini Dusty

I have a mini Dusty running around all day! What a spitting image of daddy. I should have thrown a hat on and Brady would have been a dead ringer for him. We are proud of daddy & all he is doing with his football team!

Charles Braden

Just a great picture of Brady from over the summer. He is so much fun right now. He entertained many this past weekend and was such a sport with the late nights and running around. We love him so much! I can't believe he is 14 months old!

Teeth!

Brady has officially cut 12 teeth so far! I find this amazing that a child would have this many teeth. I knew he was going to get them but this seems so fast. Also we learned about the molars the hard way by trying everything to make Brady feel better just as we did last Christmas(when he got 6 teeth) when he acted the same...silly us. Teeth! Brady does not enjoy baby food anymore. He loves to eat anything that we are eating. He has now graduated to his own plate where he can take the food off the plate himself. His favorite food would have to be hot dogs! Good thing he likes them since we are going to the Joliet Jackhammer game tonight!

Date Night

SouthPaw

Well football has begun but before it did, Dusty & myself went on a date night. We went to Chapin's in Morris for some appetizers and then met up with the Avery's and headed to the White Sox game. We got there about 3 hours before the game and tailgated. Then we went inside to see Griffey!!! How fun was that. The Sox won 9-0 and Griffey got a hit. It was a great last night date before football and I look forward to the next one.
