Hospital Visit

This weekend we went to visit Dusty's brother Ian & family before he heads overseas for a little while. It was a good time and was nice to see everyone. I was currently sick and had come home from work early Friday and thought the little bug would get out of me. Well Monday morning I decided to take the day off of work and feel better. I had yet to keep any food down since Thursday. I called my doctor and they brought me in so they could check me & baby behr. After that appointment they decided to send me to the hospital....wonderful! I called Dusty to let him know I was being sent to the ER for an IV due to the fact that I was dehydrated. Not that big of deal...just had been sick and needed to get some liquids in me that would stay in me. Well my mom met me, and we waited in the ER for about 3 hours!!! Then when I did see the doctor, there was a pain that he was concerned with and sent me up to Labor and delivery. What! I wasn't ready to be up there yet and I had no idea what was going on. They started my IV, monitored the baby's heart beat, and also followed if I was having any contractions. This is the point I became worried. Dusty was on his way from work and all this stuff was going on that we didn't know what was going to happen. Before I got to see Dusty to explain everything, I was sent to get an ultrasound on my appendix to see if there was anything wrong with that. If there was anything wrong, they had told me they were going to have to have surgery asap. Again...WHAT! So as I was getting my IV they were doing all these tests on my blood work and the baby. I was more scared for the baby than myself. I can handle a lot, I didn't want anything to happen to the 1lb baby in my body. So after about 10 hours of being poked by doctors they said all my tests looked good and I was well hydrated. By that time I was able to eat a graham cracker and drink some sprite. So to home they were sending us. What a crazy day and all because of they little baby in my belly. I am glad they took all the precautions that they did to make sure I was feeling OK. The last thing we got to do as we were walking out of the hospital was walk past the nursery where our baby will be. It was awesome to see the little baby's and every time a baby is born at Edwards, throughout the whole hospital, they play a little lullaby. It was great to hear that as I was going through my ordeal(3 times!). Thanks for the calls and concerns! I feel better today and plan to return to work tomorrow! We love you all!!
